Our story

Keith Taylor started Tayrol in 1988, having taken the opportunity to enter the world of small paper rolls. With 15 years of experience in printing, he brought new ideas and a new perspective to the industry.

From a small factory in York, he started manufacturing rolls with the philosophy of providing quality products at the right price and with the best customer service. He would regularly say, “We are not the cheapest, but we are the best.” This value of being the best in one we hold today, and with a product range that has developed in line with our customers needs.

Tayrol is now one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of thermal paper products. Our products are used in tens of thousands of locations, across every industry, including retail, transport, gaming, financial services, medical areas and many more. However, we still operate by our founding principles of providing quality products with the highest level of customer service, and doing so consistently and reliably.

1988

Founded by Keith Taylor in Yorkshire. Begins supplying paper rolls for cash registers.

1995

Relocated to current factory on outskirts of York, which has grown with the business and where we remain today.

1999

Purchased our first robotic slitting machine, with three more added in the next few years.

2016

Acquired Allrol Ltd and added new warehousing facility to support pick & pack service.

2026

Tayrol Ltd acquired by MDV Ventures. Keith Taylor becomes Chairman. Expansion into linerless and other thermal labels.
